I found an article online that detailed how Kevin Potts invented, designed, tested and marketed a new product in less than twenty four hours, for an outlay of $150. I found it on his site Make Stable Money – Make Money Online.
The product is called the Magic Article Creator, and you can follow all the steps he took in the article. Did he actually make money out of it? I have no idea. You can believe it or not.

Here, though, are the steps that he took from start to finish in his twenty four hour inventing binge:
- Identified need for specific tool.
- Searched web for similar tool. Found various, all poor quality, didn’t really do the job, lots of scope for a really great product.
- Jotted down the specifics of what I wanted to the software to do.
- Drafted a project description.
- Posted project description to www.elance.com to find a programmer to develop it.
- Within minutes of posting the project description I received several bids. I checked the bidders and then accepted a bidder to do the project for $90
- The Elance developer forwarded me the first draft of program 10 hours after he accepted project. I tested the program, found a few areas that needed tweaking and sent it back to developer.
- The programmer made the changes and sent it back to me. I tested, approved and paid developer. Entire process took18 hours.
- I created the graphics in a little free program for the manual and then just wrote this up in a couple of hours into a Word Doc
- I continued to test and make minor tinkering changes to the program.
- I created a simple Video Blog to help position this great product and help people understand its potential.
- To get the product on the web quickly, I placed the program in the Video Blog section of http://www.CambridgeBusinessAcademy.com
- I tested the ordering process with PayPal my payment provider.
- I started a viral marketing promotion via a forum, my blog and my list of customers
- Total time invested in project: 24 hours
- Total expense: under $150
Maybe you can make these work for you. And if you do maybe you could let me know…
