Something was wrong with several tracks onmy iPod. They skipped even though they played perfectly well on the computer. I tried reinstalling them to no avail, then spent a fruitless hour looking for some hints as to what the problem might be.

I could reinstall everything onto the iPod in the belief that there are a couple of bad sectors on the hard disk that a reinstallation will work around. I would rather not though. I have 45gb of music stored there and that will tie up everything for most of the afternoon (at least).

Maybe another day. For the moment I will simply not attempt to listen to Chumbawamba singing the Wizard of Menlo Park.
