Arcada's work in Second Life is at a crossroads. I know where we have been, I know where we are going; but I am not sure anymore how we are going to get there. Five years ago I had a PIM arrangement that worked as well as I could imagine. I had a Sony Clie TH55 pda, running the Palm operating system, and a desktop computer running Windows. I synchronised the pda with Palm Desktop and my calendar, task list, address book and notes went everywhere with me. Since then things have gone through several changes, which appeared to finally end when I started running Thunderbird with the Lightning calendar and task list extension installed. Then circumstances changed again, and I realised that this arrangement was now cramped, inefficient, and pointless. Related posts:

The Inclusive Holiday is a mixed media work begun in 1996, and still continuing. It is based, in large part, on the gnostic writings of Philip K Dick and Dave "Dave Cutlass" Cutlass, the importance of whose work is largely overlooked. TV on the web – an informal survey

There has been an explosion of interest in using the web as a broadcasting medium, although there is still no agreement as to how to do it, or even what "it" is. Arcada is currently exploring ways in which future media might be produced and distributed. This essay is a preliminary attempt to survey the current situation. At this stage in the discussion I am more concerned to point out the multitude of projects underway than to attempt any kind of conclusion. Related posts:
