The cloudtop

I am embarking on an experiment to customise an ultramobile pc to act as a cloud computer. My intention is to have something that will replace my old PDA; function as a calendar and address book, as a notepad and journal; yet do this (as far as possible) using SaaS and cloud storage. My aim is to create another proof-of-concept for a larger project that I am researching: the memi, an extension of memory.

UMPCs are sprouting up everywhere

In March, while we were in Mumbai, the rest of the family each bought an Asus eeePC, and they have proved very easy to use and very reliable. I decided to wait because I suspected that the screen (which is 800 x 400) would be too smal for my needs. Now I am spoiled for choice.
