Second Life: enterprise edition

About a week ago Linden Labs announced the availability of a beta version of SL Enterprise, a product that had been rumoured for some time because people knew something was being developed under the code-name Nebraska. This has implications for our work.

Tiny Nation & other machinima

At the end of September there was a world premiere for the Tiny Nation machinima. This has since been gathering a lot of praise and laughter from the many Second Life blogs and web sites.
The machinima was shot entirely inside Second Life using avatars from Loco Pocos.

Unity 2.6

A few minutes ago Johnny Bistrom pointed out to me that the new version of Unity 3D has been released – and that it is free. Unity 3D is a game engine and development platform that can be used to build games & worlds online, on iPhones and on the Nintendo Wii. It has been around for several years and we have both noticed its existence, but done very little more.
