Sundö, 10:20
This morning I was woken by the cat, who was woken by the wind. The sky was dark, there was a continuous damp drizzle, and the wind was howling and shaking the trees. The cat refused to go out.
Now Auo has woken, and we have washed and had breakfast. The trees are misty across the fields and the flowers offer the only sharp-edged colour. Children are arriving from the local nursery for their annual visit to the farm. They are all dressed up in plastic raincoats and big over-trousers.
Later Auo and I will have pea soup for lunch, and tidy the house up. Later still Irma and Naa will arrive home, praying for better weather.
