Mikael has a new machine for making huge, pre-wrapped, round bales of hay but it has developed a fault. He has therefore decided to finish the last couple of fields the old-fashioned way.
The tractor stands in the familiar position: reversed up the steep ramp to the barn with small bales ready for lifting and stacking.
I have promised that I will join them to harvest the final field this evening, once the sudden summer sun has calmed down a bit.
I will spend the late afternoon moving bales of hay around with Marina in the field, and then with Camilla, Emmi, Johan, Miina, and Molly in the barn.
We will then sit in the evening glow on the lawn at Mika and Camilla’s having beer and sandwiches.
