At 9:30 this morning I leapt into Vinesh’s car and we drove to the domestic terminal to pick up Abi and Megha, arriving from Bangalore. We drove through axle deep water as we approached the airport. We watched a rickshaw come to a standstill in a particularly deep patch.
We have spent the day in meetings and now I stand on the balcony of the hotel Irma has booked for them.
I look out at the lighthouse which gives Lighthouse Beach its name.
In ten minutes the four of us will order a beer at Leo, about ten metres from here. Soon after Paul will join us for a meal.
