I have recorded a podcast with Sofia Bustamante and had an online conversation with George Fleming. I then get drawn into the past.

I look for a cable that Mirko has asked for and find a paper bag instead. Not just any old paper bag but a paper bag from our day out in Santa Monica this summer.

It serves to remind me that Santa Monica does indeed stand at one end of what we used to know as Route 66. Apparently it no longer exists, bits of it having suffered demolition and other forms of destruction in the last thirty years.

I enjoyed the day in Santa Monica very much, and now I unexpectedly find myself thinking about it again.
