I go for a walk for the first time in days, or so it feels.
I walk for about thirty minutes in temperatures that feel much colder than I expected.
On the way back home I pass some tyre tracks with a clearly embedded footprint. I pause to photograph it and by the time I have taken my gloves off to do so my hands feel so cold that I can barely get them back on again.
The temperature rises rapidly and then – bang – the snow all falls off one of the roofs. We can hear that the neighbours have the same sudden phenomenon.
