Riga has a visually interesting set of posters advocating getting vaccines to protect against the covid-19 virus. We have seen them three or four times now.
The posters each depict a different kind of person – young woman, housewife, farmer, and so on – in the same kind of pose. The style offers various connections to early twentieth century Russian posters. The pose itself seems based on the famous Rosie the Riveter poster, or at the very least offers a winking allusion to it.
I have no idea how effective they have proved in Latvia. They certainly stand out, though.
