Last night we arrived home to find Vartiokylä buried under half a metre of snow. We did our best to ignore it although we did feel extremely grateful to Minna for keeping our drive free of snow. Without her work over the past few weeks we would literally have not got into the house.
This morning I look out of the windows and take some photographs. Irma does the same and sends hers to people in India. Almost without exception they reply asking ”Are you safe in that kind of weather?”
I will go out and do an hour’s snow work, digging paths to the compost, log shed, shed and trchnical room. The snow has reached the wet and heavy stage.
