I go for an end of the day walk. I walk down towards Alepa to see how the melting progresses. Quite nicely, thank you.

I stop to point the camera on my phone through the hole at the top of this pipe. I do not know what function these serve but I suspect it has something to do with district heating. Or perhaps they just exist as a gift from the city to street photographers.

One day I will remember to ask someone who knows more than me which, in this particular case, might include everyone else who lives in Helsinki.
