In theory the DGD session started at 14:00 but once again the club members started as soon as they raced into the building. In theory Sahan and I got there ten minutes early. In practice we arrived to see the session in full swing, answering questions before we even entered the room.

Halfway through the session I decide that I need to spend longer here. I go back in ten days and it already hovers over me, making me look at my diary and plot how I can get things done that need doing, and how I can sort out routines to take care of what still needs doing once I have returned to Finland. I look out of the window and see the dogs lying in the world’s most painterly shadow.

A motor scooter drives around them without giving them any reason to move at all. Since they obviously won’t get up I go and get my phone and photograph them.

When I return their heads have moved slightly.
