We wait at the edge of the island for the ferry to arrive. We can see it coming. We have a difficult dilemma. Should we get out of the car, walk to the front of the queue, and buy an ice-cream? Or will this result in us getting served when the ferry sets sail again, leaving us waiting another fifteen minutes?
Our problem disappears when a number of people from the cars in front leap out and trot down to the ice-cream kiosk. We would definitely not get served in time now.
Instead we sit and look around, asking ourselves if we ever really wanted an ice-cream anyway. I photograph the bilingual road sign to pass the time.
