Jade Goody: quote of the week

The current British series of Celebrity Big Brother has caused international anger as three of the “contestants” ganged up on another resident, Shilpa Shetty, the Bollywood star. The feuding has appeared to have a very nasty racial undercurrent, and Channel 4 have received an unprecedented 40,000 complaints from the public.

Last night the house had decided that Jade Goody, the leader of the gang, and Shilpa Shetty should be put up for eviction by public vote. Jade Goody received 82% of the vote and was evicted.

When she left the house she was shown the media furore she had caused, and she said she was ashamed of herself. More interestingly she said:

I do not approve of any of my actions and I do not approve of the words that came out of my mouth.

Even Richard Nixon would have blushed before saying that (which is taken, by the way, from the BBC news site).
