Riskutie, 8:32

I walk before work, and as I walk I listen to the latest episode of Aga’s Ferment Radio podcast. She talks with Sarah Lloyd about her research into slime mould in Tasmania. You can see some of the photos she has taken at Fungimap.

I love these podcasts. I never suspected how much mystery and wonder people have found in the extraordinary world of the slime mould. If I am honest I had never though much about slime mould at all before this morning.

Later I will take a few minutes to discover that Sarah Lloyd also has a very interesting blog, which explains a little about what she does and why she does it.

As I walk down Riskutie listening to this I pass a fading sticker on an electricity box. This serves to remind me that I can walk along the same roads every day for over a year and still see things that I don’t remember seeing before.
