At 17:00 Johan collected us and a bunch of Ann-Sofie’s school friends from the jetty in his taxi boat and drove us to Hasselö. We got there and met Ann-Sofie, Oskar, Mika, Camilla, and many more. Other people arrived later in their own boats.

Tanya and Ronja had arrived earlier in the afternoon on Tanya’s jet scooter.

We drink some toasts and chat. I photograph the primary cake, the one decorated with Ann-Sofie and Oskar’s names. The table groans under the weight of cakes and pies of all kinds.

Later, when we have eaten and talked, Johan will drive us all back to the jetty, explaining about the buildings and the islands in his tour guide voice as we go. Before we do we will stand and watch Tanya and Ronja leave the island at an impressive speed.
